If you are not familiar with PEX, here is a picture of the three main colors. It actually comes in other colors but these are the ones mainly seen in homes.

I know this is suppose to be on kitchens but I was seeing a lot of these sink drain covers at the KBIS in Las Vegas in Feb. 2019. This sink has a cover over the drain but the water still goes down around the edges. One sink I saw, had a linear drain cover. The cover is of the same material as the sink.
The idea is that people don’t want to see the drain itself.
