Chapter 8

Wow, this one looks pretty much like it does in the book.

This could substitute for a pendant in a kitchen that has low ceilings.

I love this idea.

Sorry this is so small. But I hope you get the idea.

There are many specialty outlets available now days. This is an outlet with USB ports built in. We installed one like this in our recently remodeled kitchen. At first I was not sure we would actually use it, but we do.

With the proliferation of smart phones and smart home hubs this outlet could come in handy. Control devises plugged into the outlet.

I like this idea. There have been many times I have needed both circuits but one of the plugs had a big end that intruded onto the other. If I could just install one sideways they would both fit, now I can.

Many people confuse the Arc Fault Circuit Interupter (AFCI) and the Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter (GFCI). Both serve to protect you and your home. The GFCI is required wherever there is a chance that water may come in contact with an item plugged into it, and prevents you from being shocked or worse.  The AFCI is required by the National Electrical Code for many areas of the home. The AFCI protects against arc faults that can damage wires and lead to fires.
